What is electronic component assembly for? Details of assembling electronic components

Assembling electronic components is a field that brings together many different techniques for the purpose of creating products to serve the production process or build industrial products. To get comfortable products, support the process of effective use,  Assembling electronic components is not only the assembly of elements into a circuit board to complete the product, but also the use of many different complex techniques. In this article, let ‘s explore with RX Tradex what is electronic component assembly to do and details  about assembling electronic components in the content below!

1. What is the meaning of the word assembly?

The word “assembly” refers to the combination of parts, parts or components to form a finished product, machinery or construction. This process is an important step in manufacturing and in the process of building industrial products.

The assembly process is the combination of parts, parts or components together, helping to form a complete machine product. This is considered an important step in the process of manufacturing and building industrial products.

Assembly requires the correct arrangement, combination, and mounting of elements in order and position to create an efficient functioning system.

Assembly is widely applied in many industries such as automobile manufacturing, electronics, machinery, construction and many others. During assembly, the workers adhere to detailed technical drawings to ensure the finished product properly and accurately. The use of production lines increases productivity, reduces production time and ensures consistent quality for products.

In addition to the manufacturing industry, assembly is also applied in construction and the construction field. In high-tech industries such as electronics, automotive, computers, and medical devices, assembly plays an important role in creating modern, intelligent devices and machines.

As can be seen, “assembly” is a process that requires precision, patience, and an understanding of the structure and function of components to create quality and well-functioning products.

2. What is electronic components assembly doing?

What is electronic component assembly for? Electronic component assembly is the process of putting electronic components in the correct position and order on an electronic circuit board or using an electronic module to create a complete electronic circuit or an electronic product.

Assembling electronic components is considered an important stage in the production of electronic devices. The electronic component assembly process consists of a series of specific steps as follows:

Preparation of printed circuits or electronic circuit boards: This is the first and most important step in the assembly process. The printed circuit board or electronic circuit board must be prepared so that the components can be attached to the correct position and in accordance with the electronic circuit design.

Component selection: Each electronic component needs to be carefully selected to ensure compatibility with the circuit and the final function of the product, including the selection of quality components and in accordance with the requirements of the circuit.

Attach components to the circuit: After the components are selected, they are attached to the corresponding position on the printed circuit or electronic board. The mounting procedure may include the use of a surfacing welding machine or mounting a pass-through pin.

Quality inspection: The finished product after assembly must undergo careful quality inspection steps. Specialized test equipment is used to ensure electronic circuitry works properly and meets quality standards.

Product packaging: Finally, after quality inspection and assurance, electronic products are packed into suitable packaging and prepared for shipping and use.

Assembling electronic components is an important and complex part of the production of modern electronic products, requiring high precision and patience to create a stable and efficient working final product.

3. Is electronic assembly a heavy, hazardous job?

According to Industry and Trade Newspaper, in recent years, Vietnam is becoming an attractive destination, attracting many large electronics corporations in the world such as Sony, Samsung, Sanyo ,… Accordingly, there are more than 500 factories, electronics industries and industries in this field are gradually developing at an average annual rate of about 20-30%.

With abundant labor resources and much cheaper costs than other countries (According to the General Statistics Office, per capita income in the first quarter of 2024 is about 5.2 million VND/month), this is the reason for multinational corporations to choose Vietnam as an ideal destination to invest in electronics production. Besides, thanks to attractive tax incentives for businesses in Vietnam, it is also an important factor, supporting the development of the domestic electronics industry.

The electronics industry currently employs about 200,000 people, most of whom are women and the majority are between the ages of 18 and 30. The workers mainly focus on assembling consumer electronics products and manufacturing spare parts and components for export.

However, although the electronics industry is growing strongly, there are still many safety and environmental problems. During the manufacturing process, many toxic chemicals are still used, although they have been banned in many other countries around the world. There are about 68,000 types of hazardous chemicals in use in the electronics industry, posing potential occupational health and environmental safety risks to workers.

These chemicals, when exposed long-term, can cause many health problems such as cancer, fertility problems and cause nervous tension, body aches and reduced visual and hearing abilities.

Research by the Center for Development and Integration (CDI) has shown that working conditions in the electronics manufacturing and assembly industry in Vietnam have an adverse effect on the health of workers. Stressful work, long night work, and exposure to hazardous chemicals, as well as ionizing and non-ionizing radiation, all pose toxic and hazardous hazards to workers.

CDI proposes to include electronics manufacturing and assembly in the list of hazardous and hazardous heavy occupations and jobs issued by the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs and the Ministry of Health. In addition, CDI also proposes comprehensive research and assessment on occupational safety and health in the electronics industry in Vietnam, as well as publicizing information on chemicals used in production to ensure access to information on occupational safety and health for workers.

The close coordination between employers and employees and authorities will make an important contribution to preventing occupational safety risks and limiting the adverse impacts of the electronics industry on workers’ health,  especially female workers.

4. Conclusions
